A felt bag filter doesn’t fail because it feels like it. It fails because we treat it like a disposable afterthought until the differential pressure spikes and the line goes down. I’ve watched the same pattern in half a dozen plants: bags get changed on a calendar instead of on condition, the wrong micron rating goes in, and nobody bothers with the cheap upstream protection that would have doubled the life. This isn’t complicated. It’s just rarely done right. Start with the Dirt Load You Actually Have Most felt bag filters die early because the solids loading is higher than anyone admitted during the design phase.
